As you approach Los Hytta, you’ll
have a hard time choosing where to cast your eyes. Your gaze will
be torn between the jaw-dropping landscape, the monumental views
and the stunning architectural design of the home. Los
Hytta’s roof lines slant upward like a bird about
to take flight from its hilltop perch. The sliding glass walls
in the living room open up the living room to the outside elements. Since
there are no neighbors that can see into Los Hytta this
massive amount of glass provides for optimal views from the living
room, dinning room, kitchen and even wrap around to the master bedroom
with a bay window.
Los Hytta comfortably sleeps nine people. It has three
bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom has a private master
bathroom and both the bathroom and the bedroom have striking views that make
it an ideal retreat. The bay window in the master bedroom is a perfect
place to settle in with a good book. The bedrooms are on the west side of the
house to keep the extremely early sunrise from waking you on those long summer
days. You’ll appreciate this after those typical beautiful
Norwegian summer nights that are difficult to give up for sleep time.
The attention to detail in this home is extreme. The design is
modern minimalist with clean lines and soft colors to match the natural
tones of rock, ocean and sky. The kitchen will never be a lonely
place for the cook as you can chat with your guests at the dining
table while still enjoying the views from the kitchen. The entire
layout of the home is about optimizing these unobstructed views.
The clothes washer, dryer and freezer are located in the hall utility
closet to keep necessary appliances out of view.
The options for outdoor dining are impressive. There is a covered
dining area in between the kitchen and living room section of the house
that is wind protected on three sides. At the front entrance
to Los Hytta is another protected dining area that
has its own outdoor fireplace and water feature for evening meals.
This is a perfect spot for those long drawn out Norwegian dinners with
friends as you watch the sunset over the horizon and can still enjoy
the outdoor fireplace as the moon rises over the horizon.
On the opposite side of the outdoor fireplace chimney facing the open
ocean is an outdoor shower. Here too the views may be distracting as
you shower and look out.
There are plenty of nooks and crannies to sunbath and enjoy the views.
You may find it difficult to ever leave Los Hytta!
You will most certainly make memories here and are welcome to return
again and again.
